Becky , you commented that you liked ferns so I went out and took a few photos...we have them everywhere around our house. All along the edges of the woods that surround the house.
I know the pics are for Becky, but can the rest of us enjoy them too? LOL! I've always liked ferns and used to incorporate them in many craft projects. Like...
paint a small clay pot one color. use spray glue applied lightly to the back of a fern (or 2 or more!) apply to pot and repaint another color. spray paint works best. voila! a fern decorated pot to plant in!
Oh my gosh Ann! Thank you! Those look JUST like the ferns in the forest behind me in Washington State! Now I'm homesick! And Wayne, what a cool craft idea! Wish I'd had those instructions three years ago! But I suppose I could use almost any type of cool leaf to do the same thing! Hmmmmm. I'll have to look for some leaves for some Christmas pots!
Oh, my gosh, I miss that kind of thing down here in Texas. There are no "woods" here...no "woodsy" smells or ferns. They would burn to a crisp in about five minutes.
Wayne--thanks for the craft tip! Becky, Deb & Vee--glad you all enjoyed the photos--ferns are the most prevelant growth ( not weed) around my house--because we have lots of shade!

The ferns also remind me of the Pacific NW. Great idea for a clay pot, too!

Yeah I'm sure Beck can't grow ferns in Arizona. I see you reminded her of Washington.
