Go Fly a Kite!

Spent a fun Sunday afternoon on Isla with Gaby, Marilyn and Miguel ( Gaby's boyfriend)  he's very inventive.  he decided to make a kite--using a teeshirt fot the body and the tail of the kite.

Tough to find the space to fly a kite on the crowded beach on a Sunday afternoon--but they did!

Success!

Now it's stuck in a palm tree!

Spring Flowers and Trader Joes

I went to the "Big City" ( Hartford) yesterday to the Elizabeth Park Spring Greenhouse Show.

It was so nice to see some spring flowers because I don't think we'll see any here--still have at least a foot of snow over all my flower beds!

This is a small selection of the photos I took--will be posting more in the coming days.

these next 2 tulips were my favorites

Love this color!

These are funny looking little flowers--I have a few growing near some Hyacinth.  And a trip to the area always includes a stop at Trader Joes so I can stock up on stuff I can't get closer to home!

TBT-- Bermuda 2002

I went on a cruise to Bermuda with my Mom & Jenny to celebrate their milestone birthdays ( 80 & 50).  My Mom had commented to me that a cruise sounded nice, but she couldn't fly comfortably so we found a trip out of Boston.  What a great way to see Bermuda--it can be very expensive to stay & eat in Bermuda, but this way you get your meals on the ship.  We met many people that had done the cruise multiple times ( don't think I would ever do that!)  The photo is of Gombey dancers that performed in the square in St. George where the ship was docked.Gombey dancers

Macro Monday

All of these flowers were growing along the chain link fence near Sea Hawk Divers.    I don't think there were as many flowers blooming this year when we were on Isla.
Most of these were growing up out of the pavement!
Usually you see hibiscus all over, but saw very few.

Monochrome Monday

Certain things lend themselves to a B & W photo--I love the look of the fishing nets, docks and boats.  My main camera has a B& W setting so one day I turned it on & walked around a bit.  Enjoy!
