One Last Stop before moving on......

Water, water everywhere! This is still in Kent--actually at Kent Falls State Park. In the warmer weather it is usually crowded with picnickers and hikers ---and sunbathers. Last week when I stopped in there was none else there but me and a few guys who were doing some repairs to the covered bridge.

The big falls cascades about 70 feet and the total falls has a drop of 250 feet. There is a trail up along side of the falls--only 1/4 mile long, but very steep--there are plenty of places to stop and admire the falls.

The falls flows back into the Housatonic river and it is designated as a trout park. Below is a view from the park to the mountains.

Close-up of the lower falls. In the summer there are always people in the water here, despite all the signs forbiding it. The rocks have been eroded over the years, creating potholes under the water so it is dangerous.

On to another town--which one I haven't decided yet...but we are going to Norfolk later today.....

I love those little streams. We had a lot of those in South Dakota and I really miss them.
