Seagull Beach, West Yarmouth, MA

This is a favorite beach of mine when I'm at the Cape.  Even if I only get there for a few minutes I love to walk the beach.  I have never found any sea glass, but there are interesting shells.

 And of course the beach's namesake!

 I went at 7:30 in the morning on Tuesday--before breakfast & another jam packed day of errands with my Aunt.

I just noticed that I have reached a milestone with this post--it is my 500th post.  I have had my blog  for just over 2 years & have learned alot doing it.  I have pushed myself to take more photos  than ever & so appreciate all of you that have come along on my journey.  Here's to many more years!

At the Pumpkin Patch

I am up at the Cape ( Cape Cod) for a few days helping out my Aunt--she is celebrating her 97th birthday  this week!  I am taking over her bill paying & getting all of that that it entails set up.

 My Aunt's church has a pumpkin patch on their front lawn, so we stopped there yesterday while we were out running errands.  It's a great fundraiser for the church.

 There are all sizesand colors of pumpkins from teeny tiny to     quite large .  Mostly all orange, but there were a few white & green ones.

More Fall Flowers

I am up at the Cape for a few days--hope to get out to take a few photos tomorrow morning, but wanted to share these flowers taken at several places in the last week or so.

 Mums at my house--I saw great mums at the store 4/$10. & couldn't pass them up!

 Hope there are still some at the end of the week...the deer are enjoying all the ones that fall on the ground.  If Ii can get enough, I will probably make applesauce.

New Pet Photos

Not new pets, just new pictures.  We gave the dog a bath yesterday & his coat is nice & shiny, so I thought I'd take a few new photos. 

Of course Rafe won't sit & tries to come right up to the camera!

 And then there's Tuck--he loves his creature comforts.  He got up in the chair with me & then proceeded to pul the blanket down from the back of the chair so he could curl up on ( really under) it.

Another web!

I often take my camera with me when I walk down the driveway because I never know what I will spot!  Earlier in the week I looked into the trees & spotted this spider web--it was in a weird spot --I had to balance on a fallen log to get a photo!

But it was worth it!  Thes are hard to photography--need the light to be just right so it will show up.

Another Beautiful Fall Day

Started out very foggy --this is at the end of our driveway looking up the hill.

 Luckily it didn't take long for the fog to burn off--was still slightly overcast, but that's OK.  I had to drive a few towns away to pick up dog food ( heaven forbid we would run out while I wasn't home to go get more!)  had to pass by a favorite garden shop, so I stopped in to take a few shots...

 They had wonderful beds full of zinnias, coneflowers, mums and many other interesting flowers...like this one...

 And this --never have seen this type before & couldn't find a sign on it that identified it--will have to check on it.

Some Fall Color

Lots of leaves are starting to change--hope to get more photos in the next few days.  There are some cool reds and oranges on trees in the area.

Will have to watch out for all the leaf peepers soon!

Blog Blahs

Really have nothing much interesting happening around here. So I have the blahs. I'm finishing up with my main fair stuff this week & then will start the prep for next year!

Next week I'll be going back to Cape Cod for a few days to do some banking & legal stuff with my Aunt. My Mom had hoped to go with me, but she had a conflict-- I will be there to celebrate my Aunt's 97th birthday during the week! Then to Mom's for a few days to help her shop for drapes & some other stuff for her new place. Back home by the end of the week. Hopefully some new photos to share...... I took this photo today of this beautiful new rose--have a few blossoming this week!

Bug eyed!

Looking through a bunch of photos & this one caught my eye! Hope you had a great weekend.

They're back!

Looked out the window this morning & caught a glimpse of a flock of young turkeys ( think they are called Jakes) walking around in the field behind the barn.....They will be around now looking for food --the neighbors put out bird seed for them!

A Beautiful Sunset

Last night I was up at the fairgrounds to do more paperwork, getting ready to mail out premium checks--everything is done except for printing 600+ checks, totalling just over $50,000! Took along my camera so I could capture the sunset....our house is surrounded by trees, so I never see the sunset from here...... The mountain isn the distance is Mohawk Mountain--we live at the base--the street we live on is one of the entrances to the State Park.

Enjoy! It's raining right now, but that's ok--we really need it!

At the Fair

Love the pigs! We had a full barn for the pig show. The Cooking Channel contacted us the week before the fair & said a crew would like to come & film our swine show & talk to the participants! They have a show called " Foodology" and they are doing one on pork--I guess the producer is originallfrom the area so they thought of us. The show will be on in about 6 months--don't even get the channel on my cable!
Sow and litter--this is one of the most popular exhibits at the fair--these babies were about 2 weeks old!

Our sheep dept. is declining every year there are fewer! Love the faces on them!

Just picked!

Walked down to get the mail this afternoon & stopped to look at the raspberry canes......was surprised at how many ripe berries there were! So of course I picked & ate & shared with Rafe!

In the Garden.....

Was outside looking at flowers over the weekend & spotted this little frog sitting near the black eyed susans. What a great macro subject!

Photo Winners

This is the fox photo that came in 2nd in Favorite of the show--people that came to the Fair voted for their favorite! Had quite a few people come up to me and make comments about it--all positive--even a few asked for copies!

These next 2 are the ones that actually won ribbons ( 3rd place). Earlier this year I went to Alan's business to take photos of their Kohler products to sendto them & took a few pictures while I was there--it's like it is frozen in time--maybe the 50's
