Surprise squash & dinner

I worked on planting my vegetable garden yesterday--it's going to be small this year--just squash --2 kinds , bell peppers and beans. AsI said before I've got tomatoes & ancho peppers in pots. Was surprised when I got the yellow squash to put in the ground & there was a few growing already! It's called a Pear Papaya squash & only takes 30 days to grow! Here's a description from the White Flower Farm website: " This All-America Selections winner is bright yellow, very early, and easy to grow! Harvest the uniquely pear-shaped fruits at 3in in only 30 days from transplant and stuff, fry, grill, or steam. 'Papaya Pear' is cute enough to entrance children, the color is striking in stir-fries, and the flavor is excellent."
Isn't it cute?
And dinner--just thought I'd share a photo of the achiote covered pork roast I cooked last night......yummy!

Yummy! That looks great and the squash is adorable. Can't wait to see the rest of your garden's produce. :) I only grow herbs and flowers that require little to no maintenance.
