Near the end... for now!

Even though I have lots of photos from the fair, I will probably only do one more post about it. We are already starting to plan for next year! From the Draft Horse show--I love to watch this show--the horses are beautiful--& huge! Alot of it takes place on Sat. morning & that's my busiest time during the fair.....so a friends sister was at the fair for the 1st time in 25 years & she has shared her photos with me---and you!
I spent 1/2 hr. on the internet trying to put a name to this breed of chicken to no avail.....interesting looking isn't it?

And another....our Poultry dept. was up this year--had a few new entrants.

From the opening ceremonies of the fair.........

A Percheron draft horse from Utopia Percherons here in Goshen--beautiful!

Ann, I wonder if any of those horses in the first photo are Morgans? My cousin now has my aunt and uncle's Morgan farm. My uncle ran the association in Shelburne, Vermont for a few years. I love that third photo of the black and white chicken!

They are all Draft horses--percherons, belgians and other large horses. We have a regular horse show on Sun. where I'm sure there are Morgans. You should go to the Ariz. State Fair & look for some htere--I read it's coming up next month!

Great pics! Beck- no Morgans in that pic, mostly Percherons and Belgians...but my sister got her Morgan in Shelburne VT and raised him from colt-hood-LOL...[His name is Sneakers but we call him Sly because he is]....I absolutely adore draft horses and ....sis and I always say if we won the lottery, we would buy draft horses just to watch them out in the field....gentle giants....I will be at the Harwinton Fair next Sunday- my sis is showing Ernie's quarterhorse in the trail classes! [and we are tailgating- Nayyyy]

That horse is beautiful...he sure is a big guy. And I'll have to say that the strange looking chicken reminds me of Tina Turner! Haha!

That is one pretty handsome chicken!

I believe that the chicken in question is called "Las Vegas Showgirl" due to the fancy headdress. Actually, I had some on the farm and they are Polish chickens. Quite stupid but pretty.

Those Chicken pictures are outstanding. I love the one with the great headdress. I think Gringo called it a "Las Vegas Showgirl" chicken.
