It's a Family Affair.....

Photos from the dairy barn of one family from Goshen getting their cows ready to be shown. Here's Dad ( Tony) drying the cow---notice the hairdryer!

And here's Mom (Karin) drying another cow!

And Becky, waiting to show her cow......

Our dairy show is about the largest of all the shows ( judging) that we have...Six different breeds and lots of classes!

A hairdryer to dry a cow seems like waxing a car with a Qtip! But, I'm sure they know what they're doing. Cute black and white cow.

You do see strange things at fairs. When I went to the Comal County Fair last year, I took pictures of the little girls tickling the cows' bellies with a scratching tool while they were showing them. I guess it only seems strange to me, though, because I'm not around that every day!

I have learned alot of breeds of animals since I took on this job, but I can't put the names to most animals--I do know most types of cows & some beefbut none of the others!
