Bottoms Up!

Yesterday we watched this swan gliding around the pond at White Memorial Conservation Center.
Every once in awhile he(she) would gracefully stretch it's neck & stick it's head under water & then flip it body .  All I could think of was synchronized swimmers!
I half expected it was going to start twirling around like they do!
Feet almost out of the water....
And back upright again!  My friend took a  video that I posted right after this.

Ann, these are great. You have so much wildlife around you. I have squirrels and with all of the wetlands in my area Canadian Geese. Nothing as exotic as buffalo or swans.

So beautiful. We once saw some ducks in the hotel pool next door from my office window. LOL...No, we actually have wildlife around our house because we live by a creek.

Thanks to you both!
Jackie--I do live out in the country & for the most part I like it...it is hard ( esp. now with high gas prices) to have to drive 1/2 hr or more to get most anywhere!

we don't have swans here..but I've always loved swans..they have the graceful beauty that translates nicely to photos..we have large geeses though..hard to photograph up close when they are busy chasing and pecking us away.

Thanks, Alfandi. We have Canada geese arounde here--they are the same all over. There used to be a pair of balck swans here in town, don't know if they're still around or not.

Too funny Ann! Swans are so beautiful, but I've heard they're tempermental. We now have insane ducks in our front yard. Someone on our block is feeding the pond mallards at their house, so the beggars wander up and down the street hanging out in front yards -- pooping all the way.
