First of the Season!

 Was out working in the garden, weeding, weeding & more weeding!  That's what happens when you go away for a week!  Spotted these 4 raspberries... & a few more that I gave to the dog!

Will have to pick quite a few more to have enough to make a batch of jam!

Early Morning Isla

I got up early several mornings & went shell & seaglass hunting.  On the way back to the hotel I spotted these hens & rooster waking up the neighborhood!

Dinner at Fredy's

On our last night on Isla our group of 17 decided to have dinner together at Fredy's.  Zach and Andrea visit with one of the cats

Came home Saturday & saw a few new flowers blooming.  Here's  one!

Macro Monday

 This is the start of my rose bushes blooming.  I have about 6 around the yard--this one will bloom up until the frost in the fall!

Punta Sur

A small part  of the large group that we have gone to Isla with this trip.  This was taken on a golf cart day a few years ago when we were all down for the Barracuda Bash in January.   That says alot--that we all get along enough to take another trip together!  Should be on the island in the early afternoon today!

Matt's Wild Cherry tomatoes

One of the tomatoes that I got at White Flower farm--they are delicious! I grew these last year, too--just pop them off the plant & eat! it's a very prolific plant--there will be lots more ripening tomatoes when we get home from vacation!

Just Noticed

Can't believe how messed up I am....Just noticed that I posted a Wordless Wednesday post on Tuesday!  That's how my weeks have been going lately! 
Gotta get back on track soon!

More new Flowers

came home from the Cape & spotted these daisies.....should be having new flowers blooming for awhile now.

New Bloomer

 I went outside early in the morning ( about 6 am)  the other day --wanted to check to see if there was much damage to my plants from the bad storm the night before--lots of rain, thunder & lightning & hail.    And I saw this poppy was blooming!  I  love the color of this & how the petals are like paper.

Still at the Cape today--hopefully we will finish up this morning & get to be back home before supper!

Arrived safely

 I left at 6:30 am to drive to the Cape yesterday--the sun was out when I left, but by the time I made it to the Massachusetts Turnpike it started to rain & it rained all the way to the Cape ( about 3 hrs).  This is the Sagamore Bridge--one of the bridges that goes over the Cape Cod Canal ( the other is the Bourne).  And a look in the other direction of the canal.

It's now 8 pm & it's pouring rain.  I just made it back to the hotel I'm staying at before it started.  Accomplished quite a bit  today--found lots of interesting things--like one of my parents wedding invitations--I've never seen one before.
Lots more to do tomorrow!

Cape Cod!

Spending the morning ( 4 1/2 hrs ) driving to Cape Cod to pack up my Aunt's apartment.  We moved her into the nursing facility at the place she lived--at 97 she just can't get along on her own anymore.
Don't think the beach will be this empty this trip...supposed to be close to 100 degrees ( maybe not on the Cape though---but we're staying at a place with indoor & outdoor pools--hope we get to use them!

Just Spotted!

Just saw this butterfly in the yard, ran inside & grabbed my camera & it still was there when I went back out!

Sunny Days Bring Out the Bugs!

I sat outside a few days ago with my camera, watching butterflies & trying to capture them on film ( well, not film per se).  I was in the right place at the right time & saw this dragon fly.....beautiful, isn't it?

An Update

Thought you might like to see how well they are doing .  They are now planted in a small wooden frame around the mailbox

Purple Haze

 I love all the shades of purple flowers that are blooming now.  This is the start of the irises.
