Yesterday we spent the afternoon with some friends that we know because of Mexico. About 9 years ago there was only one Isla board ( Julie's) & I met Sandia on there before we ever took a trip to Isla. Found out she only lived 2 towns away from us.....

Through her( Sandia) we have met other people in the area that she has introduced to Isla. Two couples that we've met have an annual fish fry --with salmon that they catch on Lake Ontario--the weather was perfect yesterday so we went.

I told Sandia that a fish fry must be a midwest and east coast thing because I have never heard anyone here say that they were going to a fish fry. Not that we don’t have lots of rivers and lakes for catching fish.
Looks like you had a good time with lots of food and good weather.
I love that Isla Mujeres has brought us together with so many awesome people! We had a great time and caught up with each others' lives...and we got some DELICIOUS jam from the Jamqueen herself!

Jackie, fish fry is common here. And here, we call it Pop. Some cal it Soda. I imagine Sandia/Ann call it Soda. What is it called in Portland?
