My sister, Judie--in memoriam

November 7 is the anniversary of my older sister's passing. She passed away 12 years ago at the age of 49 from complications of scleroderma. We were close in age (19 months apart) and were only sibs until 8 yrs. after me, my brother, Tom was born. Being so close in age we did alot together growing up. ( Me in the pink dress)
This is one of my favorite photos of the 2 of us--at Lynn (Ma.) Beach in 1953. She's the taller of the 2.

From my wedding ( mid 80's). Left to right, Judie , Tom & me. She lived with Alan & I the last few years of her life --it wasn't the easiest of times, but we survived & I'm glad she was with us at the end. I guess I'm thinking about her more than usual right now.

Ann, I also love that picture of the two of you at the beach. So cute! I know what you mean about thinking about your sister. I've been thinking a lot about my dad lately.

Ann, I've also been thinking about lost loved ones. Perhaps the Day of the Dead tradition has permeated those of us who visit Mexico, as our SOB neighbors begin sharing our Halloween traditions? I love the altar tradition, and I wish we practiced it here. We could begin...with a photo altar? Just a thought.

Those kinds of anniversary dates are always hard to get through. Photos certainly help us remember the good times, though. I like the beach shot, too.

What a beautiful picture of you two on the beach. I hope you have that framed somewhere in your home. It's precious. I'm sure your sister is thinking about you, too and watching over you. Hugs from Texas

Moonie--Yes, I do have it framed & hung in the house.
Beck, Vee & Deb--Thanks for the thoughts; the photo altar sounds like a good idea.
