Rose of Sharon

We have several Rose of Sharon growing around the yard.  They are a prolific re-seeder!  I pull out lots of the new shoots & try to give away as many as I can!
This is the largest one that is growing next to the house--it has both purple ( lavender) and white flowers .  Don't know how that happens, but it's pretty!

I've always heard the name Rose of Sharon, but never had a clue what the flower looked like. Nice photos!
