Traveling in style

A few years ago I inherited boxes of slides from my Aunt Kay. I brought them home & looked through many of the boxes, but a few days ago I found one metal slide box that I'd never looked at! This is a photo of my Aunt at Idlewild Airport ( now JFK ) in May, 1958. Very elegantly dressed for travel--she's on her way to the Caribbean with some of her friends--can you imagine dressing up like this to travel now?

Love that photo Ann! And I'll expect no less from you on your upcoming travels to Isla. You need to take a photo at the airport so we can compare outfits! :D

Those were the days! I remember dressing up the first time I flew - on Eastern Airlines.

I remember flying in suit and tie in the 70's! Thankfully times have changed!

Yep, the days of dressing up for air travel are long gone. There was a neat feeling about traveling in the old days...actually going out on the tarmac, climbing up the metal stairs and feeling/hearing the wind of the propellers. I miss those days.
