Visitors

A few minutes ago I looked out the window & saw a bunch ( flock ) of turkeys on the hill behind the house.

So, of course, i grabbed my camera & went to the back door to try & get some photos.  It's hard because they are in the trees & the camera sometimes wants to focus on the trees, not the turkeys! ( I know I could shoot manually!)

Carnival Photos

This year we were lucky enough to be on Isla Mujeres at the time of Carnival--we have been there once before for it & it's a lot of fun!  I thought the costumes were amazing this year!  Here's a small sampling of my photos!

As you know if you've been on Isla at carnival time, the different troupes work hard for months to perfect their routines & as you walk around town you may run into one performing!

I was lucky  & got to see this troupe perform before Carnival started--most all people were happy to stop to have their photo taken

Neighborhood Bison

On Monday when I drove up the street I noticed a few bison out in the field close to the road, so I pulled over to take a few shots.  Notice the larger portion of the herd behind the barn.

These 2 were the only ones to break away from the pack & forage for food.

Or get a drink of water from the newly melted snow!

Now that we are home I am going to try and post more of the photos I took on vacation .  Here's a start!  Cecilia, the daughter of the woman who works at SeaHawk ( Thelmi ) comes to the dive shop most days after school.  Sometimes she comes to visit us if we happen to be in our room.

We have been staying there since before she was born ( she will be 8 in March ) so we have watched her grow up!  She is a very creative little girl!  I usually put any seaglass or shells that I collect out on the patio to dry.  She likes to take it & make dseigns with it--here are a couple.

 

And here she is thinking up another one! ( the beer and cigarettes are Alan's!)
