Spotted this lone butterfly on a walk down the driveway yesterday. Decided to enhance the photo a little.
Here's the original. It was flitting from weed to weed looking for nectar in these tiny yellow-orange flowers.

Macro Monday
This is the "Tomato Soup " Echinacea that I got at White Flower Farm. I love the color of it--only the 2nd year it has bloomed--it's a nice addition to my garden.
The whole flower.

Aliens among Us
There were quite a few of these colorful blow up alien creatures for sale at the Fair. I think they were the "hot " item this year. I saw saw alot of them pass by while I was working in one booth..
Some green and some purple....
And some blue--some people didn't look very happy to be carrying them around!
My niece got one & she dressed it up with her Goshen Fair Tshirt , named him Joe Jones & started a Facebook page for him!

This calf was born yesterday during the fair_-the photo was taken within the first 2 hours of his life. Hope you can see the blue eye peeking out. The calf was getting alot of attention! This was the second calf born during the 3 day event!
I also wanted to say that today is my 3 year blog anniversary & I want to thank all of you for reading & commenting my blog in the past & I hope to keep your attention for a few more years!

Piglets, Pumpkins & Pies
A little variety around the fair. We always try to have one sow & piglets at the fair--they are a very popular attraction!
Had a few giant pumpkins--the total weight of all the entries was just over 3300 lbs.
And the baked goods...I can attest to the deliciousness of at least one pie--the entrants can sell their baked goods if they choose--can't be taken until 4pm so they are on display all day. ( different items are entered each day of the fair). I bought a raspberry pie & it is yummy!
Expecting some rain today, but hope people will still come out!

Animals at the Fair
The first day of the fair was great--the weather was perfect! All the cows getting " prettified " for the judging!
Alpacas--1st year they have been at the fair--not a judged event --they are just there for people to see. I went to see them & found out these adorable animals live near Sandia!
Lots of interesting sheep......
Rabbit judging--I just happened upon this being done--the judge keeps up a running commentary about each rabbit as he is doing the judging. More to come!
