Got A Lot of Reading to Do!

I love our library!  For a small town ( approx. 3000 people) they do a great job on getting books.  We also can get ebooks now.  Quite often I give them a list of books I want to read & they get them for me ( and other patrons).  I have finished the bottom 3--all good!

Macro photography is one of the kinds I like the best.  it's fun to go out in the yard & hunt for objects to capture ( in a photo that is!)

Flashback Friday--I've been gardening a long time!

This photo was taken in the mid 50's on East St In Melrose, MA.  We  always had a large garden & I loved to work in it-- this particular year I grew corn.  I was very proud of the ears the stalks produced!  Some 60 years later I am still gardening, but without the same dedication & therefore not the same results!

Early Morning on Isla

The 1st morning we were on Isla I got up like I always do & went out shelling.  It was only one of 2 mornings I went out early...we kept fairly busy so most of the time I didn't feel the urge to go out!

But I found all these sea urchins on that first excursion!  All below the malecon within about 20 feet!  I am happy to say they all made it home intact--I went right away to the Super Xpress & bought a square plastic container to cushion them in!

The other morning I went out I convinced  Dylan to get up with me!  We had gotten a golf cart for 24 hours so we could go to Punta Sur , but we never mad it that far!  We stopped along the Caribbean side where the new walkways are and walked around.

It is so nice to have a spot designated for pulling off the road with nice benches so you can sit for a few minutes.

All the lilies in my gardens are starting to bloom--this one for the 1st time in 3 years!

I got a few new Echinacea this year & they are blooming too!

More lilies ( I have alot of different varieties!)

And the 1st of my Matt's Wild Cherry tomatoes--love them!

I was out taking photos of the new flowers that are blooming & saw this fly--it was very accommodating--stayed in one spot for me!
