Cream Puffs--Yum!

 At the Big E yesterday we decided to indulge in these delicious cream puffs!  ( Well, my friend did; I ended up with an eclair--the same filling with a little chocolate!)

 It's a 2 fisted dessert--they actually have signs up telling you to hold & twist it into 2 servings!

Travel Tuesday

Nubble Light in Maine.  A beautiful spot!  I took my Mom up there for the day  a year or so ago & then out to lunch--we both loved to be by the sea!

Droplets

The capture of all the water droplets is great!  It was worth the patience that it took!  if you look closely you can see a red flower reflected in the bottom drop!

Reluctantly Sharing Space

Walked into the kitchen one morning recently & saw this--the dog sharing his bed with the cat...very reluctantly!  It didn't last very long!

A Nice Mistake

I forgot that I had my camera set to take B & W photos, so I walked around nthe yard the other day & marveled at all the flowers that are blooming agin!  When i put the pictures on the computer I was surprised!  But I like some of them!

We have a flock of turkeys that live in our woods.  Hear ( & sometimes see them ) them most every morning & afternoon!

There was a pumpkin carver at the Goshen fair--these are a few of what he carved--the fountain was amazing!

Gotta Make One of These!

This is hanging in a tree at the Boyd Woods Audubon Sanctuary in  Thomaston, CT.  I want to make one!  And I certainly have the shell to do it!

It was hanging in a tree near one of the ponds & you could hear it  all around the area!

 

 Went to the Bethlehem fair on Sunday & they have a building called Mother Goose Barn where they have newborn & young animals.  These chicks were the youngest ones there!

 They were so adorable!

 There was a 5 day old calf, too, but not as cute as these!

I was working in the cellar & Rafe & Tuck stayed at the top of the stairs to "monitor" what I was doing!

Saturday Stills

Out for a stroll--all the beef cattle had to be taken  to the scale in the drawing ring are to be weighed, so they got to walk around a little  They compete by weight in several classes.  below is one getting led onto the scale.

The Antique Barn --B & W

 I went upstairs in the Antique Barn at the fairgrounds late in the afternoon on the last day of the fair--I wish I had done it sooner!  And I 'm going to go back another day & take more photos.

 I thought doing the photos in B& W would be good so I figured out the settings on my camera & started shooting.

 The lighting wasn't the best, late in the day & overcast...that's why I want to go back on a sunny day!

Final Count

Here's a photo of all the ribbons I won this year at the fair--total of 6 1st place, 10 2nd place and 2 3rd place!

When I'm 64....today!

Today is my 64th birthday & I will be celebrating as I have for quite a few years--spending the day at the Goshen Fair. My brother & his family won't be down this year because of work & school & football & I will miss having them here. But several of my friends are coming & we will have a great time!
