Daffodils

 While I was out yesterday I stopped at the Laurel Ridge Foundation  Daffodil Fields.  I walked around a little & took lots of photos--walking back up the hill to my car I stopped to look at some of the photos.  To my surprise many of them were black & white!  Then I remembered changing the setting on my camera to Monochrome when I was taking some manual shots!

 Over 50% of the daffodils are blooming right now!  here's one of the B & W photos

Playing Around with Picasa

I love that Google decided to add lots of what was great about Picnik to Picasa &  that's it's all free!

I added a border to the 1st photo & cropped & used the HDR filter on the 2nd one.  will be trying out stuff on lots more!

Oh, The Treasures You Find!

In cleaning out some closets I have found some cool stuff--like this scrapbook from 1909 filled with newspaper articles about events Annie  Oakley was to participate in.  I hadn't seen it in years & feared it was lost after one of the various moves of things from one house to another.  It was in the back corner of my spare room closet--under a garment bag.

My grandfather worked for several gun manufacturers and had met Annie Oakley.  i remember hearing stories about her when I was small ( both of my grandfathers passed before I was 8 )
