Scenes from the Flea Market

Went to the Stormville NY flea market Sat. with a few friends--we try to go a few times a year--even if we don't buy anything, it's a fun day out with friends!

You can find all sorts of things there--$5.00 handbags...

All sorts of stuff for $1-$3.....I always get new mittens & ear muffs

Some new things this year--not sure if it was for Halloween or just regular dance stuff!

And John Deere paraphenalia......out in the country here!  It was a fun day--the weather was perfect & we went 1st thing in the morning ( 9am) so it wasn't crowded yet.

Tree Trimming

We had a few guys over to cut down some trees that were too close to the house & hanging over the driveway.  Since our house is surrounded by woods, every once in a while we need to thin things out somewhat.

 Alan went around & marked the ones to be cut down about a month ago & then we had lots of rain!  So he had to go around & re-markthem last week.

 This one was a little too close for comfort--and just missed the house when it came down!

 The guys did a great job taking the trees down & cleaning up after themselves.

 This will give us lots more light on the back patio!  I'm excited to get out there & do some more planting!

 Along the driveway--had to watch out for all the wires that go to the barn!  Now if someone will come & get the wood!  ( one of the neighbors has an outside furnace & is coming to get the wood this week)

Second Story Shots

Decided to get a little different perspective this morning and went to the second floor of my house to take a few photos.

 Still not at the top of the trees there!

 Lots of leaves & the hammock is still hanging--wishful thinking, I think!

 It looks so peaceful........lots of raking to do...maybe another day.......

Night Visitor

Last night when Alan went to let the dog out, he noticed this little guy on the storm door--about 3 feet from the ground!

 First reaction was "come & look & get the camera!"

 Of course I complied & had a hard time getting any shots--it was dark, rainy & it was on glass.  Amazingly, it stayed on the door while I went in & out trying to get a decent photo.

 After about 10 minutes it finally got fed up & jumped off the door into the night!

More Fall Colors

From the top of Mohawk Mountain--this is a State Park that is at the end of the road we live on.....a little overcast but still a great view

Early Morning

A shot of the beautiful sky early in the morning.  It will be rainy for the next few days, so it was nice to see this today!
