We found these photos from our 1st fair at the Historical Society. Will be blowing them up & displaying them shortly. We are getting ready for our 100th anniversary in 2010--the Ag society was started in 1910, 1st fair 1911.
All exhibits used to be in tents; then we went to Quonset huts and then to the steel buildings we have now. We have 120 acres, about 10 buildings and a few open buildings--like a gazebo and a few pole barns. The newest building is an FFA exhibition hall that was put up about 4 years ago.

trying out my new camera
I got a new camera last week & haven't had a chance to try it out, so just went out in the yard--the birches are behind our house
These marigolds are surrounding the mailbox & for some reason the bees were flocking around them today. I'm pleased with how close I could get to the flower--drops of water showing--with just the regular lens on the camera
I went to the fairgrounds this morning--this is on the way home.

Isla Beach Vendor
Have been looking through lots of photos & came across this one, taken 2 or 3 years ago on Isla. I love the starkness of it in B&W

Sunsets in Goshen, Isla and Alaska!
Photo taken at the Goshen Fairgrounds the 1st night of the fair 2006. The colors in the sky were gorgeous!
Isla sunset taken on Playa Norte around NaBalam, I think. I don't usually make it to the beach for sunset--maybe once or twice in the 10 days we're there.

Green Animals mansion, Rhode Island
Photos of topiaries at Green Animals mansion inPortsmouth, RI. I went on a tour of a few mansions outside of Newport. These are ones you don't hear about as much as the huge ones that are in Newport. Amazing topiaries, including the legendary animals. The garden is the oldest of its kind in North America and was once owned by a wealthy textile merchant. The stately Victorian home also has orchards and vegetable and herb gardens, in addition to the whimsical and elegant topiaries.
They all have beautiful gardens and window boxes. The one below are on a garage/shed.
Elephant topiary. The mansion and grounds were a fun place to go to walk around. The mansion is located overlooking Portsmouth Harbor, so has a beautiful view.

Isla ...Punta Sur
A few shots from one of our 1st trip to Isla Mujeres. Love the crashing waves around the southern end.
Probably took 12 photos to get the sea spray!
Off in a few minutes to go visit my Mom, north of Boston--about a 3 hr. drive--helping her re-arrange her cupboards, so things are easier to reach--she's 87. Will also get to go to my nephew's football game tomorrow--luckily for me the weather is supposed to be ok.
Goshen Fair 1920's
Found these photos at the Historical Society & made copies for the Ag Society to have. This is our local volunteer fire department--we still have just a volunteer company today. Please click on the photos to enlarge--I uploaded the files too large & so I had to post these in the small size in order to post all 3.
Everything used to be shown ( flowers, canning etc.) in these tents. We then went to Quonset huts & then to permanent buildings. Below is another view. We have added a few parcels of land over the years, so now we have approx. 120 acres.
