As a watercolor...........
Just converted to B & W except the bird..............looking at this now I wish I had enhanced the color a little---for another day!

Brothers in Arms!

Just happened to walk by the door to our solar room and came upon this ......... They are brothers (from the same litter) and are 12 years old. It's been quite awhile since I've seen them curl up together!

Everbody seems to be gardening these days....

I went to White Flower Farm yesterday to get a few plants & drool over lots more. This is a begonia in one of the greenhouses.
Happened upon a few bees around one of the plants--this is the only photo that came out half way decent. more beautiful flowers...I have lilies & roses from here that are beautiful and this trip I picked up some shasta daisies and several echinacea, including one new variety called Tomato Soup. It looks like an interesting color!

One of their daffodil borders. I will be going back--they have beautiful plants to purchase & gardens to walk around. In May they are having a weekend called Tomatomania where they have 145 varieties of tomatoes for sale--I've been in the past & have gotten some interesting kinds.

Neighborhood horses

We have 2 boarding/riding stables on the street where we live. At one time there were more horses than humans on the street! These are all from one of the stables. I went up one day & asked if I could take some photos--the owner graciously said yes...
I haven't spent alot of time around horses--I grew up in a city, But Alan has had them-- from ponies growing up to 2 over the last 25 years--gave the last one away because Alan didn't have the time to devote to him that he needed.

They are big & beautiful animals!

Have you seen these?

Walked around where I work & looked for a few different items to post. This tuna can drainer is a real waste of money I think. For me it would be just one more thing to find a place to store--and how often would you use it?! It's already been marked down once & I'm sure it will be again before we get rid of them! But the tomato saver ( & the onion, lemon, lime etc) is a great item -- We can't keep them in stock! And people come back to buy for gifts! It used to be people would spend $25 for a gift & now it''s $3.79! ( But I know I'm spending less myself, too)
I work in a family owned retail store & it is very slow!!! We can go a few hours & not see a customer. It is a very fickle business--one day you may have someone come in & drop a few hundred $$ on dinnerware or prints or cookware, then the next day nothing; very inconsistent . I'll only be working a few more weeks & then I take the summer off to prepare for the Goshen Fair. I just handed off my 1st draft of the fair book to the graphics person who makes all the changes to take to the printer. It will be the 97th fair this year and we're hoping for a good one!

Sunset perspective

A friend gave me permission to post this photo--I love the way you can see the water through the neck of the bottle... And then the sunset!

Right place at the right time

You have to be at the right place & the right time to catch a spider web photo. At my house it's in the morning when the sun is coming up throught the trees to illuminate the web. Helps if there's dew also! I look most sunny mornings...... I usually see one about once a year!

Soap Operas

I will admit it--I've been watching soap operas for at least 35 years. Sometimes more often than others and taping days when I'm not home to watch later in the day. Saw this comic strip ( For Better or for Worse ) and it struck a chord with me!http://www.fborfw.com/strip_fix/archives/2009_04.php
This is one day's strip of about 4 that concerns watching soaps.....
I started watching All My Children in the early 70's when I worked 3rd shift--I was home & had lunch with my Mom & watched..... Got into General Hospital at the time of the Luke & Laura hoopla......

Not sure when I started with One Life to Live, but it's on between the other two.......

About a month ago I made a conscious effort to only watch ( and tape)one of the 3--if I'm home--haven't had any withdrawal pains & have realized it frees up hours of time...that I spend on the computer! ( not really!) Will still watch once in awhile, but never like I used to!

Happy Birthday, Rafe!

Our puppy, Rafe is turning 7 years old today. We got him when he was 7 weeks old and weighed 7 lbs. For a few short weeks he was the same size as our cats!( Rafe & Bubble)
A picture of him at the feed & grain where we got him--he was in a litter of 11 puppies & was the runt! Love those blue eyes! Well, now he's getting older ( we are, too!) His muzzle & paws are turning gray.......

he definitely is our baby & very spoiled......

Assorted flowers

These hydrangeas are on Block Island. Everwhere you look there are hydrangeas growing--must be something with the weather there--humid & damp--not one of my favorite places!

Theses black eyed susans are in my yard--they grow wild in our field near the road. They are so bright and cheery!

Also in the yard, near the house.

A little unexpected treat

Walking down to get the mail I happened to look in the ditch that runs under the driveway out towards the road. there were a few of these little yellow flowers growing amongest the dried up leaves & junk from the winter. Really brightens up the otherwise drab landscape!
